Microchipping

Riverview Animal Hospital is a proud participant of the microchip program, which is an identification program that is nation-wide. A microchip is the size of a grain of rice and is inserted painlessly under the skin of your pet. On this chip the name of the animal, the owner’s name and contact information as well as the veterinarian who placed the chip is all found with a simple scan of a reading wand.

Having a microchip placed on your animal can give you as their owner a sense of security and peace. If your pet is ever lost or separated from you, a rescue shelter or other veterinarian will scan for a chip immediately and contact you or Riverview Animal Hospital to plan a reunion!
